Exactly one year ago, a good friend of mine made an announcement we will never forget - she’s getting married! Not impressive enough? Well, what made her announcement extra unforgettable is the fact that she kept the fact hidden from us for the longest time, made her preparations and everything, and announced the event exactly one month before it will actually happen. Oh, she just likes surprises - those that she provides, anyway.
More than shocked, we were agitated to realize that we have less than a month to prepare for her bridal shower and to save some money to buy gifts and outfits to attend the grand day! She was supposed to hand out cheap wedding invitations, but it turned to be this really cool concept that perfectly fits her and her groom’s personalities. It actually looked more like a children’s birthday party invitation at first but closer scrutinty would make it evident that those are some really fun, but really classy wedding invitations!
What’s more impressive, again, is for us to see how well organized and beatiful the whole thing turned out to be. A bride on a budget can have so many other options after all. Like limiting your guest list and making an intimate event, witnessed only by a close-knit group of friends and family. It was exactly how my friend planned her wedding and it was such a beautiful wedding, it brought tears to our eyes. We traveled out of town for the ceremony; they were married in this small chapel along the hills, with breathtaking view that I didn’t want to leave the place to go the reception. The reception area, on the other hand, is this very cozy, farm-like place that serves greens and really tasty but light-and-filling cuisine. I really can’t stop gushing about the whole thing, especially after seeing the official pictures of the event. This just goes on to show that money doesn’t have to be such a big issue in preparing your wedding. You just have to know how to do it wisely and creatively.
